Leadership Transition at the WSO

Announcing a New Chapter for Our Organization

We are writing to share important news regarding a leadership transition within the WSO. After 7 years of dedicated service, Katie Pargal will be stepping down as Executive Director. Katie’s tenure has been marked by her steady leadership and unwavering commitment to our mission, especially as she guided the WSO through a period of significant organizational change.

During her time as Executive Director, Katie navigated the organization through the unprecedented challenges of the COVID pandemic, multiple music director and board leadership transitions, and several venue changes. Her resilience, vision, and adaptability ensured the continuity and growth of the WSO, even in uncertain times. We are grateful to share that Katie will continue to inspire us all in her ongoing role as a musician within the organization, keeping her passion and artistry at the heart of our community.

On behalf of the entire WSO, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to Katie for her remarkable dedication, visionary leadership, and tireless service. Her contributions have laid a strong foundation for our future success.

As we bid farewell to Katie in her executive capacity, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Rachel Postler as our new Executive Director. Rachel brings a wealth of experience in nonprofit operations, event planning, and organizational leadership. Her proven track record in guiding teams, fostering community engagement, and executing successful events makes her a terrific addition to the WSO family.

Please join us in welcoming Rachel Postler to the WSO. We are confident that under her leadership, our organization will continue to thrive and reach new heights. Rachel joins us January 1st and will work with Katie during the month of January to transition responsibilities. We look forward to your ongoing support as we embark on this exciting new chapter together.

Wishing you a Happy New Year!

Warm regards,
The WSO Board
